The terms, in plain English.
These terms are an agreement between you and Habgood Holdings Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom trading as kn0t, covering the kn0t applications, the kn0t service and this website. Using kn0t means you accept them. If you are accepting for a company, you confirm you may bind it.
What kn0t is
kn0t is a coordination layer for AI coding agents: a desktop application that observes and brokers your agents locally, and an optional online service for accounts, teams, billing and team coordination. Your code, prompts and transcripts stay on your machine; the privacy policy states the full data boundary and is part of these terms.
Your licence to the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the kn0t applications for your own development work, on the plan you hold. The software is licensed, not sold; we keep all rights not granted. Open-source components inside it belong to their authors under their own licences, listed on the licences page. You may not resell kn0t, remove its notices, or use it to build a competing coordination service by copying its behaviour wholesale.
Accounts and teams
Keep your credentials and machine credentials to yourself and tell us promptly at hello@kn0t.ai if you believe an account is compromised. A team's owner and admins control its membership, its policy and its billing; joining a team means its policy can govern your enrolled seat, and the posture of that seat is visible to the team. Team policy governs seats, never people: kn0t's team surfaces report coordination and posture, not an individual's output.
Plans, trials and billing
Prices are shown at checkout and billed by Stripe. New accounts start with a 7-day Solo trial without a card; when it ends untaken, the account moves to the Free plan and nothing is charged. Team plans bill per licensed seat from purchase. You can cancel at any time and the subscription runs to the end of the paid period; a lapsed personal plan moves to Free, a lapsed team switches off its team features. Refunds where the law requires them.
Acceptable use
Do not use kn0t to break the law, to interfere with the service, to probe or overload other people's systems, or to process data you have no right to process. You are responsible for what your agents do; kn0t coordinates them, it does not supervise them for you.
Fail-open, stated plainly
kn0t is built so that its worst failure is doing nothing: if kn0t is down or unreachable, your agents keep working and edits proceed uncoordinated. That is a deliberate design choice, and it means kn0t is not a security boundary, not a backup, and not a guarantee that every collision is caught. Do not rely on kn0t as your only control for anything whose failure you cannot afford.
Warranties and liability
kn0t is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties beyond those the law implies and does not allow us to exclude. To the fullest extent the law allows, Habgood Holdings Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability under these terms is capped at the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Ending things
You can stop using kn0t and close your account at any time. We can suspend or end access for breach of these terms, and will say why. On closure your server-side data is deleted per the privacy policy; whatever lives on your machine remains yours to keep or delete.
Changes and the law
We may update these terms; material changes are announced to account holders before they take effect, and continuing to use kn0t after that accepts them. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, without limiting any consumer rights you hold where you live. Questions: hello@kn0t.ai.
